Electrical Internal Installation Inspections

Conducting inspections of electrical internal installations is crucial, especially in industrial facilities and anywhere electricity is used. By performing these inspections, we can gain insights into the condition of your installations.

Grounding System Inspections

Grounding is a system that channels fault currents (short-circuits) to the ground in any electrical circuit. By inspecting grounding systems, we can take preventive measures to protect both personnel and equipment from damage during a short circuit.

Note: Periodic inspections of grounding systems are mandated by several regulations and standards, including the Regulation on Grounding in Electrical Installations.

Residual Current Device (RCD) Function Tests

Residual Current Devices (RCDs) work as a safeguard for both human life and the electrical equipment in your facility. They prevent fire risks that could arise from minor fault currents. Therefore, it is essential to perform function tests on RCDs.

Note: RCD function tests are required by relevant regulations and standards.

External Lightning Rod (Lightning Conductor) Periodic Inspections

Lightning is an electrical discharge that occurs between clouds and the ground. Lightning strikes can happen anywhere in the world depending on weather conditions. To protect against lightning, an external lightning rod system is installed. Regular inspections and reporting of this system’s adequacy are required.

At Drita Electrical, we perform inspections of your external lightning rod system with our expert engineers and provide reporting that complies with relevant standards and regulations.

Visual and Functional Inspection of Electrical Panels

Electrical panels are present in many aspects of our lives. Within the scope of electrical internal installations, inspections of electrical panels can be categorized into visual and functional controls. During visual inspections, evaluations are made of the panel and its surrounding area, while functional inspections involve checking whether the switchgear components within the panel are functioning correctly, and detecting any heating issues using thermographic examination.

These inspections are crucial for the health and safety of personnel. At Drita Electrical, we conduct visual and functional inspections of all distribution panels, both secondary and main, within your facility and provide detailed reporting.

Insulation Resistance Testing

Insulation resistance, also known as isolation resistance, is tested to identify potential insulation faults in cables or installations before fault currents develop. This allows for preventive measures to be taken.

Note: Insulation resistance measurement and inspection are mandated by Article 10-a of the Regulation on Electrical Installations.

After insulation resistance measurement, our expert engineers prepare a periodic inspection report in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.

Continuity Testing of Grounding

Continuity testing of grounding allows for the verification of sufficient connections between grounding points (machine and equipment bodies) and equipotential bonding bars or main grounding conductors. This helps in identifying parts of the grounding system that may require improvement.

Our expert engineers perform continuity tests in accordance with regulations and standards, and provide a periodic inspection report.

Note: Article 10-c-2 of the Regulation on Electrical Installations specifies the mandatory testing and inspection of the continuity of protective conductors and potential balancing conductors, recommending a test with a current of at least 0.2 A and a voltage source between 4 V and 24 V. The recommended maximum resistance values are <1 Ω for protective conductors and <0.1 Ω for potential balancing conductors. 

Thermal Imaging and Reporting

All equipment that uses or transmits power generates heat and emits infrared energy. Thermal cameras detect this invisible infrared energy (heat) and convert it into an electronic signal, which is then displayed as a thermal image on the camera screen. Equipment such as electrical panels, motors, and wiring in your facility emit heat. This heat increases in circuits with faults, excessive current, or loose connections, potentially leading to fire hazards.

Regular thermal imaging inspections are necessary to detect such issues and provide reports. Conducting these inspections helps to identify potential fire hazards and ensures a safer working environment for your facility and employees.

PAT (Portable Appliance Testing)

Statistics show that around 25% of fires in our country each year are electrical, and 5% are caused by electrical appliances. These fires result in irreplaceable loss of life and property. To protect ourselves, our homes, and workplaces from fires, regular inspections of electrical installations and appliances are essential.

PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) allows for the electrical safety testing of portable devices that might be damaged during use and transport, such as extension cords, heaters, water heaters, electrical hand tools, ovens, and washing and dishwashing machines. By identifying faults early, PAT helps prevent electrical shocks and fires, keeping your loved ones safe.

We perform PAT according to international standards and provide detailed test results.

Accumulator Periodic Inspections

Accumulators and their areas pose a high fire risk and can expose workers to accidents and occupational illnesses if not properly managed. To mitigate these risks, regular inspections of accumulators, UPS systems, and battery rooms are necessary.

Note: The “Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment” published by the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Services mandates periodic inspections of accumulators.

Generator Periodic Inspections

Energy Analysis and Harmonic Measurement

Energy analysis measures the stability of the electrical network and monitors energy consumption by devices that might cause issues. The collected data helps identify and resolve potential problems.

Cathodic Protection Measurements

Cathodic protection is a system used to prevent corrosion in metallic tanks and installations (such as LPG tanks, natural gas tanks, and metallic installations) buried in the ground or underwater.
